A course for the over 65’s to improve strength, balance,mobility and independence.

Beginner course

Are you worried about falling? Feeling unsteady on your feet? This 26 week strength and balance course is designed to help increase postural stability and reduce the risk of falls.

Each session is led by a qualified Postural Stability Instructor and a Support Instructor. It is for those who may feel unsteady on their feet and want to be stronger, steadier, and more active.

Current timetable

Classes are currently running in East Worthing and Shoreham:

Tuesdays, 10.15am, East Worthing Community Centre (Pages Lane, East Worthing, BN11 2NQ) - rolling programme which started 16th April

Tuesdays, 1.15pm, Shoreham Centre (Pond Road, Shoreham, BN43 5WU) - rolling programme which started 2nd April

You can access falls prevention support through our dedicated Falls Prevention exercise service for West Sussex. Strength and balance exercise classes, run by Postural Stability Instructors, are held at venues across the county.
