Cookery skills with UKHarvest
Do you live in Adur or Worthing? Come and find out what is happening in your community right now!
UKHarvest are the 'superheroes for surplus food'! They collect quality, surplus food from a variety of retailers/producers (e.g. supermarkets, hotels, farmers, and restaurants) and deliver it, direct and free of charge, to charities that can make use of it to support those in need, preventing it from going to landfill.
UKHarvest is being commissioned by Adur & Worthing Councils to deliver community-based events, launching their cookery skills service offering 6 week NourishEd programmes locally from early January 2020. These courses will help people understand the food they are eating and how to have a well-balanced diet. Participants will learn how to prepare simple, healthy meals and have fun at the same time - completing a Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate as part of the course too! More information on the courses can be found on the UKHarvest website. All are welcome to participate in the scheme! For any queries about the courses they run, call UKHarvest on 01243 696940.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, UKHarvest are providing one-to-one food and nutrition related phone calls to support individuals and families. If you or someone you know could benefit from a friendly phone call to discuss recipe ideas, food or nutrition support, please email UKHarvest with your name, phone number, short description of yourself and what you would like to discuss.
