The Aldingbourne Trust is working towards supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to lead enriched and fulfilling lives through education, training, specialist care and a keen focus on building strong partnerships with local businesses and employers.
WorkAid is a service run by the Trust, available to people across West Sussex. It helps people prepare for, obtain and retain paid and voluntary work. To be eligible for this, the following criteria must be met:
Network West Sussex is a consortium of providers - the Aldingbourne Trust, Circles
Network, Signposts (Mid Sussex), Hillcrest, Outreach 3 Way, Worthing Mencap, who
offer preventive services for people in West Sussex who have a learning disability. There are two aspects to the service:-
My Network: Drop in sessions at venues across West Sussex, offering information,
advice and guidance on housing, leisure, learning, money management, health
and much more. Activities and workshops are held, with a focus on helping people
to live independent lives.
People must be aged over 16. We welcome family and carer enquiries.
My Network Plus: My Network Plus is a housing support service for adults with
learning disabilities, who live independently or with family carers. Priority is given to
people who are receiving support from adult social care. The service works in
partnership with My Network providers to make sure individuals get the support they
need to continue to live independently in their own homes.
My Network Plus is a referral only service – via the West Sussex County Council Learning Disability Teams (each Team has a named link worker for the My Network Plus service).
People must be:
• over 18
• resident within West Sussex
• have a tenancy or are living with family carers
• in need of support, information and advice to prevent their needs
developing substantial or critical levels.
1:1 and group support is available. Typically 1:1 support will be for financial management, management of correspondence, developing & maintaining life-skills, monitoring health & wellbeing, emotional support, practical assistance, planning, links to other services/support available in the community. My Network Plus customers will have their support needs met in a range of ways rather than a service which exclusively provides regular 1:1 support. Every My Network Plus customer has a named keyworker who can give one-to-one advice.
