It is estimated that around 7 million people in the UK have pre-diabetes and thus have a high risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
Our pre-diabetes programme has been developed to help prevent the onset of Type 2 diabetes by reducing the risks and allowing people to take control for themselves. The course helps participants set small manageable goals to help avoid developing Type 2 diabetes. Diet, physical activity and other lifestyle factors are the main focuses.
People who have a higher risk of developing Type 2 diabetes:
If you fit into these categories and have had a high blood sugar level result, our prevention programme could provide you with the advice you need to prevent diabetes.
The programme is 2 and a 1/2 hours long, a group session held at various locations across Adur and Worthing. To find out more details and book onto a programme in your area please contact Adur and Worthing Wellbeing on 01903 221450, or email email@example.com.
Anyone who is unsure about their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes can visit riskscore.diabetes.org.uk/start and take a quick 60 second test provided by Diabetes UK.
Your BMI (Body Mass Index) can also be checked online by visiting the NHS website.

Below is some positive feedback we have received after the course:
"Therese gave a very good afternoon lecture on being pre-diabetic. 8 months on, I requested another blood test from my surgery and I'm no longer pre-diabetic...the figure is now 5.8 and my cholesterol is reduced too. I'm also 18.5 lbs lighter than I was! The credit for my maintaining ANYTHING belongs to Therese. I just wanted to thank her for her part in my wake-up call - she provided just the kick-start I needed."
