AudioActive

In 2022, AudioActive opened AudioActive Worthing, a unique space in the town that is now home to free-to-access music sessions.

The AudioActive space has a fully equipped music production suite, community and resident studio space, subsidised offices for music industry development and partners, and a ground-floor community space used as a record store, live music venue and café, run by Black Rain.

'Room to Rant' is a Sussex-wide young men's rap and spoken word project that focuses on wellbeing and the importance of self-expression (for ages 16 - 25). This project is designed to provide a safe and supportive space for young men to explore their emotions and "get things off their chest" through the power of spoken word and rap.

The sessions include a YMCA counsellor embedded within the project to provide guidance and support to the young men who participate with the option of one-to-one work.

They aim to break down the stigma surrounding mental health by promoting self-care and understanding. Through powerful lyrics and personal storytelling, the young men in 'Room to Rant' will share their experiences and struggles, encouraging their peers to seek help when needed.

Sessions run on a Tuesday, 18:30 - 20:30 @ AudioActive, 85-87 Montague Street, Worthing, BN11 3BN

For more information or to sign up to the free music sessions for young people in Worthing, use the form on the AudiActive website.
